Turmeric, Nature’s Yellow Gold

My healing process has been long and slow at times. But I really do feel that I’m getting closer to the finish line… Especially since I started drinking smoothies and juices with turmeric.  It makes all my cells radiate and vibrate. Research shows that Turmeric is effective at treating depression, and it may even be more effective than some of the most common anti-depressant drugs currently on the market. Curcumin, a derivative of turmeric, is also known to battle cancer and inflammations. bild 3
I wanted to create a smoothie that was super healthy and still delicious. So I decided to combine turmeric with the Sea buckthorn berry.

This little berry is a real power plant. It protects your heart and makes your skin radiate. So if your looking for a smoothie that will help you stay happy, healthy and glow, look no more.


1 cup of filtered water

1-2 banana (depending on how much sweetness you like, I take 2)

1 cup of Sea buckthorn berries

1 inch of fresh turmeric

Mix everything together in a high speed blender and let the healing begin.

What do you eat for breakfast?

I usually have a smoothie for breakfast (surprised? not really huh). Sometimes I like to spice it up, so today I made this creamy pudding that I topped of with a ton of buckwheat, chia seeds and some cacao nibs. It tasted YUMMY!

1 banana
1 cup of frozen strawberries
1 orange
1/4 cup of soaked cashews (not a must, but they do add creaminess)

Mix everything in a highspeed blender.

Add your favorite topping like chia seeds, bee pollen or maybe hemp seeds?
If you use my favorite topping, raw buckwheat, remember to soak it over night and rinse it well before you eat it.

What every Urban Hippie needs!

I know that I post a lot of smoothie recipes! See I’m truly convinced that if people drank more raw smoothies, the world would be a happier place! This one is probably the tastiest green smoothie you have ever tried and it’s so simple to make. (see recipe below)

1 big organic Persimmon
1 organic Tangerine
100g organic Spinach
1 cup of Water

Mix everything in a blender.

Blueberry Pudding!

Mmmmm oh my!! This pudding is one of my favorite breakfasts and desserts. It’s full of antioxidants, vitamins, protein and good fats. A perfect treat for a snowy day like this.
(see recipe below)

1/2 cup of soaked organic cashew (soak for at least 4 hours)
1/2 cup of organic blueberries
1 organic banana
1 organic date

Mix everything together in a high-speed blender like the vitamix. If you have a weak blender, you can use a coffee grinder to mix the cashews into a powder (only works with dry nust) before you throw them in the blender.

The nuts will give you enough fat and proteins to hold you until lunch.
Now go on and shine like the star you are.

Strawberry Delight

Oh how I love this delicious berry! Eating (drinking) fruits has never been as easy as it is since I created this recipe.
This smoothie is full of Potassium, Vitamin C and Antioxidants and it will give you that extra energy that you need to be your fabulous self!

1 cup of organic strawberries
1 banana
1 tangerine (optional for extra Vitamin-C )
1 cup of organic coconut water

Mix everything in your blender and ENJOY!

Rejuvenation Smoothie

This is what I drank after my water fast. The cucumber is one of my favorite veggies. It’s delicious, nutritious and good for my belly. Did you know that cucumber contains lariciresinol, pinoresinol, and secoisolariciresinol, three lignans that reduce risk of cardiovascular disease as well as several cancer types, including breast, uterine, ovarian, and prostate cancers. Cucumber also has anti-inflammatory properties, it’s freaking amazing right? I also added grapes to this smoothie. Grapes are full of nutrients and taste divine. Try this smoothie if your easing out or in to a fast, or if you just want something delicious and refreshing. (see recipe below)


1 organic cucumber (peal it if you prefer a smoother taste, but remember there are lots of nutrients in the peal)
1 cup of grapes
1 cup of water

Mix everything in your blender. Do this often and your body will thank you!
